Ingredients
- Mars Bars6 chopped
- Butter150g
- Rice Krispies120g
- Milk Chocolate150g
- Parchment paper1 sheet
Instructions
Prepare Baking Tin with Parchment
2 minBegin by taking a 20 x 20 cm (8" x 8") baking tin and greasing it lightly with butter to ensure easy removal later. Next, line the tin with a sheet of parchment paper, allowing some overhang for easy lifting after baking. This preparation will help achieve clean edges for your squares.
Melt Mars Bars and Butter
4 minIn a heatproof bowl, combine 6 chopped Mars Bars and 150g butter. Place the bowl over a saucepan of water that is gently simmering, ensuring the bottom of the bowl does not touch the water. Stir the mixture with a whisk until it is fully melted and has a smooth, glossy texture, about 5-7 minutes.
Combine Rice Krispies with Mixture
2 minIn a large mixing bowl, add 120g Rice Krispies. Carefully pour the melted Mars Bar and butter mixture over the rice krispies. Stir vigorously until all the rice krispies are evenly coated with the mixture, ensuring no dry bits remain.
Press Mixture into Tin
2 minTransfer the rice krispie mixture into the prepared baking tin. Using a spatula or your hands, press the mixture down firmly and evenly into the corners of the tin to create a compact layer. This will help the squares hold their shape once set.
Melt Milk Chocolate
2 minIn a microwave-safe bowl or a heatproof bowl over simmering water, melt 150g milk chocolate until it is smooth and creamy. If using a microwave, heat in short bursts of 20-30 seconds, stirring in between to prevent burning. The chocolate is ready when it flows easily and is completely melted.
Spread Chocolate and Set
6 minPour the melted milk chocolate over the pressed rice krispie layer in the baking tin. Using a spatula, spread it evenly across the top to create a smooth finish. Allow the chocolate to cool in a cool place until it sets, which may take about 30 minutes. Once firm, cut into squares and serve!
