Ingredients
- Falafel12 pieces
- Pita Bread6 pieces
- Tahini1/4 cup
- Water1/4 cup
- lemon juice2 tablespoons
- Garlic2 cloves
- paprika1/4 teaspoon
- Lettuce1 head
- Tomatoes1 medium
- Cucumber1/2 medium
- Dill Pickles1 medium
- Red Onions1/4 medium
- Harissa Spice3 teaspoons
Instructions
Preheat the Oven
2 minSet your oven to 450°F (230°C) to ensure it reaches the right temperature for baking. While the oven is heating, arrange the falafel pieces evenly on a baking sheet, giving them space to allow for even cooking and crispiness.
Bake the Falafel
20 minPlace the baking sheet in the preheated oven and bake the falafel for approximately 8 to 10 minutes. They should be heated through and have a golden-brown exterior when done; keep an eye on them to prevent over-baking.
Make the Tahini Sauce
2 minIn a mixing bowl, combine tahini, water, lemon juice, minced garlic, and paprika. Use a whisk to blend the ingredients together until the mixture is smooth and creamy, ensuring there are no lumps for a perfect sauce consistency.
Prepare the Pita Bread
2 minTake each piece of pita bread and carefully cut about 1 inch off the top to create a pocket. This will make it easier to fill them with the delicious ingredients later on.
Fill the Pitas
4 minStuff each pita pocket with 2 falafel pieces, then add generous portions of lettuce, chopped tomato, sliced cucumber, dill pickles, and diced red onion. Make sure to distribute the fillings evenly for a balanced flavor in every bite.
Add Sauce and Spice
2 minDrizzle about 1 tablespoon of the prepared tahini sauce over the fillings in each pita. To enhance the flavor, sprinkle a little harissa spice on top, which will add a delightful kick to your sandwich.
