Instructions
Combine Ingredients in Pot
38 minIn your Instant Pot, add the black beans, chopped onion, diced green pepper, diced red pepper, chopped celery, and the garlic. Ensure that the vegetables are evenly distributed for consistent cooking. This mixture will provide a vibrant base for your hotpot.
Add Seasonings
3 minSprinkle in ground cumin, oregano, salt, and black pepper over the vegetable and bean mixture. Stir thoroughly to ensure that the spices evenly coat all the ingredients, enhancing the flavor profile of the dish.
Mix in Water
16 minPour water into the pot, making sure to cover the mixture adequately. Stir well to combine all the ingredients, ensuring that the black beans are submerged to facilitate even cooking.
Cook Under Pressure
1 minSecurely fasten the lid on the Instant Pot and set it to cook on High Pressure for 35 minutes. Make sure the steam valve is set to the sealing position to maintain pressure during cooking.
Release Pressure Safely
1 minOnce the cooking time is completed, let the pressure release naturally for about 20 minutes. After this, carefully switch the steam valve to manual release to let out any remaining pressure, ensuring you stand back from the steam.
Serve and Store Hotpot
4 minOnce the lid is opened, your hotpot is ready to be served. If you have leftovers, let the dish cool completely before transferring it to airtight containers for storage in the fridge or freezer.
