Instructions
Preheat Oven and Prepare Sheets
1 minSet your oven temperature to 400ºF (200ºC) to ensure it’s hot enough for baking. While the oven is heating, line two cookie sheets with parchment paper to prevent sticking and make cleanup easier.
Mix Cream Cheese Filling
3 minIn a medium mixing bowl, combine cream cheese, sugar, and vanilla extract. Use a hand mixer or whisk to blend the ingredients together until the mixture is smooth and creamy, with no lumps remaining.
Prepare Work Surface
3 minSprinkle a light dusting of flour over your clean work surface to prevent sticking. Take the puff pastry sheets from the refrigerator and roll them out gently with a rolling pin until they are slightly thinner and even.
Cut Pastry Into Squares
3 minUsing a sharp knife or a pizza cutter, slice the rolled-out puff pastry into 9 equal squares on each sheet. Aim for uniformity to ensure even baking, and keep the squares about 3 inches (7.5 cm) wide.
Make L-Shaped Cuts
3 minOn each square of puff pastry, make an L-shaped cut in the top right and bottom left corners. Ensure these cuts are about ½ inch (1 cm) from the edges and do not intersect at the ends to maintain the pastry's integrity while baking.
Form Diamond Shape
3 minTake the upper right corner of each pastry square and fold it down towards the bottom inner corner, creating a diamond shape. This will give your pastries a unique look and help hold the filling inside.
Fill Pastries with Cream Cheese
3 minIn the center of each diamond shape, place 1 to 2 teaspoons of the cream cheese mixture. Then, delicately arrange strawberries, raspberries, and blackberries on top of the cream cheese for added flavor and texture.
Arrange Pastries on Baking Sheets
6 minCarefully place the filled pastries on the prepared parchment-lined baking sheets, ensuring they are spaced apart to allow for puffing during baking. This will help them bake evenly and achieve that delightful golden color.
Bake Pastries
23 minPlace the baking sheets in the preheated oven and bake for 15 to 20 minutes. Watch for the pastries to turn golden brown and puff up, indicating they are fully cooked and ready to be removed from the oven.
Serve and Enjoy
1 minOnce baked, take the pastries out of the oven and let them cool slightly. Serve warm for the best flavor and texture, and enjoy your delightful breakfast treat!
