Raisins1 cup
Melted butter1/3 cup
Molasses1/2 cup

Instructions
Steps
- In a medium bowl, combine all-purpose flour, brown sugar, baking powder, ginger, allspice, and cinnamon. Whisk thoroughly to mix.
- Stir in raisins, ensuring they are well coated in the flour mixture.
- Pour in melted butter, molasses, and water. Mix with a wooden spoon until a dough forms.
- Shape the dough into a ball and place it inside a cotton pudding bag. Tie the bag securely, leaving around 1 inch of space for the pudding to expand.
- Boil the pudding in water for 1.5 hours. (In Newfoundland, it's often cooked alongside Jiggs Dinner, but can be made separately.)
- Once the pudding is firm, remove it from the water and let it cool slightly. Unwrap it from the pudding bag.
- Slice the pudding like a cake and serve warm with your choice of sauce, such as rum butter sauce, warmed molasses, or a Molasses Coady sauce made with molasses, butter, and water.
